Hello and welcome to Mississauga Vision Centre! My name is Dr. Melanie Datta-Bose and I feel very honoured to meet you and very privileged to be of service to you.
I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree with High Distinction at the University of Toronto in 1994. I then went on to do my training in Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. I graduated in 1999 cum laude and am a member of The Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometry Honour Society and Tomb and Key Honour Fraternity.
I gained great experience working in different institutions in various cities of the United States of America. The last 14 years I have enjoyed immensely serving the citizens living in the Greater Toronto Area. I have special interest in managing the treatment of ocular disease.
Along with my practice I am busy raising two beautiful children with my husband. To relax and bring some balance in my life I love to do Yoga, outdoor biking and hiking, learning to sing and sharing my time volunteering at our Temple Sunday school.
I have great respect and fascination for how the eye and visual processing system works. I find it rewarding working with our patients of all ages to help maximize and preserve their vision. It gives me great satisfaction to be able to prescribe low vision devices to our Low Vision patients enabling them to be more independent and improve their quality of life.
